This error occurs when a GTIN (Global Trade Item Number) is submitted but does not follow the correct format. A GTIN must always be numeric and have the correct length depending on the GTIN type (e.g., GTIN-8, GTIN-12, GTIN-13, or GTIN-14).
Cause
The GTIN contains invalid characters (e.g., letters or special symbols).
The GTIN has the wrong length (too short or too long).
The GTIN does not comply with the standard for valid barcodes.
Resolution
Ensure that the GTIN consists of digits only.
Verify that the length is correct:
GTIN-8 → 8 digits
GTIN-12 (UPC) → 12 digits
GTIN-13 (EAN) → 13 digits
GTIN-14 → 14 digits
Enter a valid GTIN before submitting the product.
