Description
Fortnox rejects creating/updating the customer because the customer name is missing. The Name field (customer’s name/company name) is mandatory for a customer to be saved.
(The message about the customer not being found is informational; the main error is that the customer name is missing.)
Cause
Name/Customer name is empty or completely missing.
The value consists only of whitespace.
The mapping from the source system leaves Name as null/empty (e.g., missing billing name, first and last name, or company name).
Resolution
Enter a customer name before sending the customer to Fortnox.
Business customer: use the company name (legal name).
Private customer: use first and last name.
Ensure the value is not just whitespace and meets any length/character requirements.
Check the integration’s field mapping (e.g., that “Billing name/Company/FirstName+LastName” maps to Name in Fortnox).
Resend the customer after correcting.
